Acknowledgement
e-kidna acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional custodians of the land in which we work and live and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay respects to Elders past, present and emerging and express gratitude that we can all share this land today. We acknowledge the strength, resilience and capability of our First Nations peoples and hope in partnership we can help keep kids safe.
We also acknowledge the long term and significant impact of sexual abuse on victims and survivors and understand the resilience and fortitude healing takes. We believe you and will listen to your voices to help us prevent others from experiencing such harm.
Reading about child sexual abuse can bring up strong feelings. Support is available. For 24/7 support you can call Lifeline on 13 11 14; 1800RESPECT; or 13YARN (13 92 76) for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis support. Blue Knot Foundation supports anyone affected by complex trauma, and is available Monday-Sunday 9am-5pm AEDT.
